Beyond the Script: LinkedIn's warm Take on the INSEAD Journey

Interview-style video project in collaboration with INSEAD, featuring the Head of LinkedIn MENA and his peer.

The Challenge

Create a conversational, unscripted video that highlights the INSEAD MBA journey without it feeling like a typical corporate interview. The challenge was to strike the right balance: keeping the tone warm and casual while still aligning with LinkedIn’s formal brand guidelines and maintaining professional production standards.

Our Approach

  • Conducted research on interview formats from popular media (e.g., GOAT Talk by Complex, Wired Autocomplete Interviews, and Most Googled Questions) to understand what makes a casual conversation feel authentic on camera.
  • Worked on a unique setup tailored to LinkedIn’s office space conducted a site recce to identify ideal locations, camera placements, lighting plans, and mic setup for simultaneous audio capture.
  • Storyboarded the full video flow to avoid a cold or abrupt start. Developed opening scenarios that could organically lead into the conversation.
  • Designed the video to open with a music-backed montage showing the two individuals interacting, helping set a relaxed and friendly tone before the actual dialogue began

The Impact

  • The final video felt natural and sincere capturing real memories, insights, and humour without sounding scripted.
  • Shared directly by the Head of LinkedIn MENA on his personal profile, the post received authentic engagement, including comments from INSEAD professors and classmates from a decade ago.
  • The relatable storytelling resonated with potential MBA applicants, sparking thoughtful conversation about executive education.
